Utilizing existing communications channels, the NEA will encourage locals to incorporate practical composting programs in our schools. These programs will serve as a solutions-based approach to teaching climate change lessons.

Rationale/Background

Food waste = 30-40% of America's food supply.  Rotting food in landfills produces methane, exacerbating climate change. Industrial composting infrastructure exists or can be developed. School communities can work against climate change by composting food waste.
