NEA shall advocate for the passage of S.852, the Antisemitism Awareness Act of 2019. This advocacy will take the form of letters to legislators urging passage of this legislation. Additionally, NEA will develop a sample letter that members can use to contact their respective senators and legislators to be disseminated through appropriate channels.

Resolution I-53 states that NEA believes that American institutions should discourage demeaning characterizations. What might be deemed as "free speech," looking closer, is actually "hate speech." S.852 uses guidelines adopted by the Department of State.
