NEA will create a task force to examine means of data collection on discrimination, harassment, and bullying of members on the basis of race, gender identity and expression, or sexual orientation by local and state National Education Association leadership. The task force will also develop a process of grievance submission and accountability, as well as development and dissemination of reporting procedure and protocol.

Rationale/Background

Given NEA’s commitment to racial justice, we need to face the racism that exists in our own association and do everything possible to protect our members. Currently, no process exists for members to document their experience of harassment or discrimination.
